Who I Am and Why I’m Here!

calligraphy-letter-v FramedI started blogging in November of 2014, the idea was to share the art of crochet. By sharing what I make and the patterns I use and to open up a place or format where if I decide to write patterns for crochet projects that I design I can do that. As well as a place where I could get some feedback on my work and meet some great people.

I am also an advocate for the use of essential oils, and so I thought, “While I have a blog started for crochet, maybe I can somehow link the oils in, by writing about my and other Peoples (with their consent of course)  experiences with the oils.” By writing about the oils it helps me learn more about each one of them, it makes me a better advocate and at the same time I am sharing what I learn with you! And I like that! I have already started to post compilations of what I find around the web of the histories and some of the legends/folklore of the different herbs that are used in essential oils, as well as their uses in our modern day.

This blog is also about sharing part of who I am as I go, a little bit of writing, a little bit of picture taking, kind of along the lines of a journal, more of a travel journal is the way I like to think of it.

Who do I want to connect with?

Thats a good question, I want to connect with people who inspire me and in the process if I can turn that around and inspire others who visit this blog………that would be awesome! If I can help others through the information that I post here…………that would be awesome! That is my vision for this blog and I truly hope that it is helpful and interesting with a little whimsical fun added in for good measure.

I think I have my work cut out for me! What do you think?

Today’s assignment: write and publish a “who I am and why I’m here” post on your blog.  via Blogging 101, Day One: Introduce Yourself to the World

I think I might have bitten off more than I can chew…..hummm…..ah well! I am learning a great deal about putting a blog together and this is really fun! My Sister wants to put a website together to help her business and has asked for my help. So I told her,”Sure, how difficult can it be? I’m learning how to put a blog together for myself and so far it’s going well, it’s really pretty easy.” So we went out to dinner last night to discuss the template she is looking at and what she has in mind. The template is great and it is already formatted for starting and sustaining a massage business. The problem is that she wants everything changed around because she really doesn’t like the template and she is right. That template will not work with her vision of what she wants her business to incorporate. Try to explain to someone that knows nothing about computer programing that you really don’t know what you’re doing neither! ha!  I’m learning as I go and loving every minute of it.
Another friend asked me if I could help her make Origami Moravian Stars, she wants to give them to her clients for Christmas, a little something hand made. She was having a problem getting the last eight points to look right and didn’t have the time to sit down and study how to do it. So I told her,”Sure, I’ve never done Origami before, but how difficult can it be?”
I’m learning as I go and loving every minute of it!

My first post

Strawberry and Me
Hi there,

I thought maybe I should at least write something. I guess I will start out with the headband I am wearing in the picture. I crocheted this headband 2 weeks ago using a pattern from Hopefulhoney’s blog just in time for a cold snap. We had a problem getting the furnace going and this cute headband kept my ears nice and warm. Other than that I have been concentrating on making the blog look the way I want it to look and not much else. This definitely is a blog in progress. I’m still working on gadgets! I think I’m going to have to get on a regular computer to move things around tho. This i-pad doesn’t want to grab and move.
